The Story In Question: Developing My Plot

I am excited to see where my movie's narrative goes now that I have started creating it. I still have a lot of work to do in terms of developing the characters and honing the plot, but I know exactly where I want the movie to go. I want to detail everything that will happen in the film opening so that it is easy to see what happens. Here, I will use Freytag's pyramid. This is what it looks like so you can see how I am outlining it:

Exposition

In the small town of Mount Dora, Florida, there were few people who lived there; a population of 16,000 resided in peace. Not much crime was committed there, and nothing paranormal has ever been found as well. Although peaceful, the students at Mount Dora High School did the regular high school activities, such as attending parties every weekend and sneaking off to do drugs. Of course, parents believed that their children were very intelligent. In the population of teenagers that attend this school, there was a friend group that resided over the rest. Although most people got along at the school, the friend group usually threw parties or hosted events that students wanted to go to. In the friend group, there was Gemma, Janelle, Erika, Logan, and Gabriel. These 5 decided to throw a party to honor the start of spring break, in which the party was thrown at Erika’s house. Many students at school were invited, and of course they brought the essentials needed: alcohol and music. 

Inciting Incident

At Erika’s party, Gemma gets there with Logan, whom she is dating. They are all getting drinks and talking about their spring break plans that they want to do, including going to the beach and taking a road trip. At the party, everyone has their own drama. Janelle finds out that her girlfriend Sienna had been cheating on her and found her with another girl at the party, and she starts talking to her friends about this. She starts crying about it with them, and they try to help her. Instead, she goes to get more drinks.

Rising Action

Janelle starts drinking a lot more, making her a little drunk. While she starts walking to find her friends, someone pushes into her and she drops her drink on her shirt. Of course, she gets angered and goes to the bathroom to fix herself up. After cleaning herself up a bit, she starts to fix her makeup as well. She looks down to find her makeup bag, and we see the reflection in the mirror not going with her and staying. Janelle does not see this, and goes back to doing her makeup.

Climax

Before she can even scream, her reflection grabs her by the throat and suffocates her with her hands. She struggles to breathe, and then her breath runs out and she dies. Her reflection is still in the mirror, but then walks away into the mirror and disappears.

Falling Action

Gemma goes and looks for Janelle knowing that she is sad, and asks people around. People at the party tell her that she saw her go into the bathroom, so she goes to the bathroom and finds her friend dead on the floor.

Denouement 

Gemma screams for help and to call the police.
