My favorite part of the project. Creating the characters. You do not understand how excited I have been for this. Although there are not many main characters in the beginning of my story, there are some that I get to do. The first one starts off with Gemma. I created a little board of what I think Gemma would look like and what vibes she would give off. Of course, I am doing this as a 2023 version so of course it would be very much for today’s looks.
The first character I kind of designed was my main character which will be in the opening. Of course, she is not the main character that gets killed, but rather the one who survives for the rest of the party, which I am so excited for. She will of course be one of the planners of the party, and will be the protagonist. In my movie, Gemma is a popular gorgeous girl who represents self-assurance and social skills. She frequently appears to be having a wonderful time, laughing, and enjoying her friends' company. Her impeccable look, including her fashionable attire and flawless hair and makeup, radiates a sense of affluence and luxury. When she becomes interested in the narrative, she must set this aside and work to identify the culprit. I chose the name Gemma because I have always associated it with people who were known in school, from different movies and such as well as in personal experience.

And for the character that gets killed, I decided to base her from the character Karen Smith from the movie Mean Girls. I named my character Janelle.
Karen is the fourth one to the right, last one in the picture |
Karen comes out as being a little naïve and ditzy; she frequently gets lost in her own thoughts and makes odd statements that occasionally come off as improper. She frequently tries to mimic the behavior and attitudes of the popular set, but she also has a tremendous desire to blend in and be accepted by them. In terms of my own personality, I'm drawn to Karen Smith from "Mean Girls" because of her lovable characteristics. Her lack of inhibition and eagerness to embrace her own special eccentricities, even if they occasionally come out as a little clueless, are qualities I love. I often compare myself to Karen, a foolish blonde who gets lost in her own thoughts and has trouble understanding the social dynamics around her. Unfortunately, I am killing her first due to the fact that she would be the easiest to kill off, which sounds rude. It is just the fact that she is clueless and wants to fit in that helps.
While there are undoubtedly more characters in my film, I feel that those that have a big impact on the storyline and the connections between the characters are the ones that viewers should pay the most attention to.
